A gift
My little girl will be turning 2 on Sept 9th. I mentioned that we had just attended a birthday party this past weekend and it was a really sweet homey event. (I haven't even decided where or anything of cakes, colours or take home gifts.....and I'm also trying not to let it stress me out) BUT -- I have started on her special gift.
Since she has started to grow tired of me always trying items of clothing on her; and I really still wanted to make (sew) something for her. I settled on a quilt. Well, sort of. I say sort of because it isn't patchwork and I only really had to piece the brown gingham onto the main fabric which is the super cute little print of animals have a picnic and eating lots of yummy cake!
I showed it to her last week to test her response and she liked it a lot, she instantly sat on it and decided she wanted to play with the bears in the picture. It's not an big enough to be a single bed quilt, but it's still big enough to keep her warm. The reverse side is a red plaid flannel (I so love plaid!) I like the red too cause I wanted to keep it girly. I'm a little bit away from finish, but should have it ready by the time her big day rolls around. Hope to show it to you then!
