Womens Grey Cross over Top

Big news..... & a Grey Top

Hi Everyone 

Wow is it hot this summer in Taipei...it's almost impossible to be out during noon time! 

I wanted to share with you some (big) news.......or just the big tummy. 

Yes!! We are expecting and due very soon.........Early October. 

Since being pregnant this time & having a bit more time for myself (compared to the first pregnancy) 

I recently wanted to make some clothes for myself. 

So above is my attempt at cross over top. 

What do you think? 

It's a dark grey cotton stretch - because I"m usually clumsy and a white or light coloured top would definitely dirty it fast! 

I traced one of my tank tops and separated into two pieces. 

The top piece is from shoulders to under the bust, and the second piece is lengthened so it covers my tummy. 

However, I mis-measured. Either that or I just don't really know how big I'm getting....

The two overlapping pieces on top were actually too tight on the sides!

So I had to add the strap detail on the left hand side, can you see? 

Also, I think I could have made it a bit bigger under the bust....

I'm not sure how long I can wear it for! Ha ha 

But all in all, it was a fun attempt and I'm now more interested in trying out more things...

It didn't take as long as I expected, but I definitely didn't want to be too adventurous on pattern or print since it was my first time.
