:: A little birdie Raincoat ::

My little girl
And her new little raincoat.
Filled with tons of little birdies.
Sometimes I think all her chatting does kind of sound like little birds chirping...

The last month has been endless days of rain and thunder showers.
Monsoon season was finally upon us,
and even though it cooled down the heat a bit
I would wake up at night hearing the sound of rain outside &  think
Oh ...Please dry up a bit.

This cute little raincoat was the a result of all that rain.
It's a very simple pattern, much like this hooded cape I made for her when she was soooooo much smaller. The fabric is oil cloth and it wasn't too hard to sew. Sometimes it would get a bit stuck under the needle, but it wasn't bad at all. On the plus side, it doesn't fray so there's no need to hem it.
Instead of a button, I made 2 half circles and sewed them on then I sewed on some velcro so that hey would close up. It's really cute and I like it a lot.
I wonder if I would have made arm openings though...
But I think I will visit this pattern again. Maybe a winter capelet.

Hope you like it, and have a great week.
Love
