Making Pillow Covers
This weeks latest project, sewing pillow covers for our living room.
Hi Everyone
Some of you know, we moved into our new apartment a little over a year ago.
And as fun and tiring as it was decorating a new space and slowly allowing everything to find it's place, and allllll those trips to Ikea... I feel like we are still now adding a bit more of our "own" personality into our home.
Here is my latest sewing project, chevron pillow covers.
I saw this fabric at the material market and I just had to had to had to have it.
It also came in orange (which I also really really wanted) but knew it would be hard to blend in with the colour palette of our home. Of course I am still tempted to go back and grab it.
I've never sewn pillow cases but did not imagine it to be too difficult,
Luckily I wasn't wrong, and although the sewing went well, my pillows coveres were 45cmx45cm with a zipper insert on the top,
and lets not forget to match the edges (or not if you don't mind)
Only after I finished my project did I discover an an even easier ways to make a pillow cover here at the wonderful (ABM) or the trusty Martha Stewart site over here.
So next time you want to introduce something different to your home,
try making pillow covers. It really can really accentuate or change the mood of your space.
Or make it as a house warming, it's a really fun little gift!
Have a great week
Love!
cute! great job!
