Scented Rice Bags
I know it's the middle of summer, and boy is it a hot summer...!!
So what am I doing making a winter item now......??
I can't say for certain, but maybe because it's snowing in my hometown in South Africa.
Or maybe its because I was thinking of some loved ones and wanted to warm them up somehow...
And so, here's a neat idea for those who are in winter mode.
So I've seen these around here and there but was always hesistant to try them only because I was reallyworried they would grow bugs. (Bugs, rice.........Eeew.....not a good combination)
But, But But...
I did try it.
And it has been at least 2 weeks,
and yay -- of course no bugs. Provided you don't get it wet. So make sure you don't let your toddler gob all over it.
Gather up your scrap fabric which I believe every sewing girl has lots of.
Iron it out, fold it in half an close up the two sides.
Add your spoonfuls of rice
Not too full if you like to also throw them around in your hands like me
and so they can also work as stress balls or happy sacks :)
Mine are small, about 10cm by 15cm
I added some dry chocolate mint herbs to the one and a chamomile teabag to the other.
I like the smell and I really realy like warming them up in the microwave
Stay cool, or warm.
Love
