It truly is the end of summer.
Not only is the weather cooler, our herb garden / pot plants which we've had all summer have started to flower whichI  learnt  means they will no longer be as tasty or grow as well as they did.
I guess simply put; this means that like all things -  they have aged.

So good bye Summer and good bye basil.
Until next year I am assuming.
I've never planted anything through winter I will have to see what we can grow in this next season.

Basil is such a great herb.
It grows easily and can be used in a multitude of recipes (chicken basil pasta, tomatoe basil, pesto, etc)
Myself being very new at this found it to be pretty straightforward. We planted ours from seeds and just watched them grow taller and taller. We picked off the smaller leaves towards the bottom so the bigger ones would grow better.

But we did what we had to and got out the siccors and cut most of the stems off,
can you see the flower on the bottom?
We actually didn't make anything specific with it but ended up pressing some of the leaves.
Another thing to do with basil leaves, plus they still retain the smell!

Looking forward to the change of seasons
and wishing you a lovely weekend.
Love

Ps.Stay tuned for an upcoming tutorial!
